Environmental Engineer

Job Summary

• To follow up on environmental protection programs and ensure that proposals and activities for research, studies and actions related to the environment are carried out.
•  To follow up to ensure that the legal provisions related to the prevention and control of the effects on the environment caused by the generation, transportation, storage, handling, treatment and final disposal of solid and industrial waste that are considered hazardous and non-hazardous are maintained.
•  Participate in environmental emergencies and contingencies in accordance with the environmental authority policies and programs established for this purpose, promoting a culture of prevention through a permanent training program for the communities.
•  Train and educate personnel on environmental issues, waste management, and organizational culture.
• Give continuity to environmental programs, as well as energy conservation and sustainability programs.
•  Ensure the development of measures to maintain the environmental parameters to which we are obligated as a company.
• Ensure the effectiveness of measures and mechanisms to combat and prevent air, soil and water pollution, establishing criteria and guidelines for the processing of environmental impact statements.
•  Knowledge and update in management and environmental legislation.
• Support environmental operations, goals, projects and strategies, as well as assist in the development of the Plant environmental culture and internal and external events.
• Record near misses and recordable incidents in the site and company incident reporting databases and ensure follow-up items are completed according to deadlines.
• Control environmental cost and EHS support; Environmental training, audits and inspections; Improvement projects.
• Support in the analysis of Environmental Reports (effluents, water, atmospheric emissions).
•  Monitoring and inspections within internal and external areas.
•  Support to waste vendor audits and contracted companies
• Support in the preparation of Environmental Procedures, Legal, ISO 14001.
• Support internal and externa audits: Corporate, ISO 14001 Legal.
• General administrative activities related to the needs of the EHS Department.
