Job Description
The role is within our Mainframe and Midrange division, supporting the Midrange Storage & Hardware Engineering team. The candidate is expected to be highly technical and exhibit the follow traits
- Highly skilled and capable engineer (deep technical knowledge absolutely required)
- Self-driven (See a problem, fix a problem without being asked)
- Be able to execute complex tasks with large amounts of autonomy
- Problem solver
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor and maintain enterprise storage environments
- Identify, diagnose and resolve issues (Operational, performance etc)
- Design and implement large scale storage, SAN & Backup solutions
- Monitor capacity and performance
- Automate routine tasks (python)
- Document infrastructure changes and develop support material & run books
Required Skills
- Ideally 10+ years in the storage/san/backup industry
- Knowledge of
- IBM DS8000 & Flash Systems Storage
- Broadcom (Brocade) & Cisco SAN
- Dell EMC Data Domain & IBM TS-Series Tape
- Strong ability to self-manage workload, prioritize tasks, deliver solutions with minimal oversight
- Demonstrated success in owning and resoving complex infrastructure issues from detection to resolution
- Effective communicator
Python skills very desirable, willing to accept a strong developer with minimal infra knowledge depending on candidate availability.
