Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to play a key role in our outsourced CFO services line, managing bookkeeping across multiple client accounts. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can handle complex bookkeeping tasks, ensure accuracy in financial records, and support financial reporting for diverse businesses.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a client-service environment, managing deadlines across accounts, providing insights that improve financial decision-making, and helping standardize best practices across the bookkeeping team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) across multiple clients.
Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
Generate and analyze aging reports to track overdue invoices and improve client cash flow.
2. Bank Reconciliations & Payroll Support
Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in client financial records.
Support reconciliation of payroll-related accounts and help resolve discrepancies in coordination with payroll providers.
Investigate and resolve banking discrepancies efficiently.
Collaborate with accountants to ensure compliance with financial requirements.
3. Financial Reporting & Record-Keeping
Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow summaries) to support client decision-making.
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger reconciliations.
Create and manage client financial spreadsheets and reporting tools in Excel.
Extract and analyze data from QuickBooks Online to provide insights.
4. Process Optimization & Compliance
Ensure accurate bookkeeping practices consistent with GAAP and company standards.
Implement and refine best practices for AP, AR, and reconciliations across client accounts.
Work with management to improve financial workflows, reporting efficiency, and standardization.
Maintain secure financial documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
5. Leadership & Team Collaboration
Provide guidance and training to junior bookkeepers, ensuring accuracy and consistency across accounts.
Collaborate with accountants, tax professionals, and finance teams to ensure smooth client operations.
Support management in financial planning, budgeting, and process improvements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Timeliness & accuracy of reconciliations and reports across client accounts.
Efficiency in AP & AR processing.
Client satisfaction and retention tied to bookkeeping quality.
Effectiveness in mentoring and supporting junior bookkeepers.
Compliance with internal controls and bookkeeping standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
✔ 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience.
✔ Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and financial reporting tools.
✔ Excellent understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping best practices.
✔ Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients or projects.
✔ Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred:
➕ Experience in business services, professional services, or financial industries.
➕ Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
➕ Knowledge of payroll processing systems and compliance regulations.
➕ Experience working remotely and managing multiple client accounts.
