We are seeking a dedicated RFE Cover Letter Group Lead to oversee our talented team responsible for crafting professional, accurate, and reliable legal cover letters in response to Requests for Evidence (RFEs). Position Overview:
The RFE Cover Letter Group Lead will be at the forefront of our operations, guiding the team that expertly drafts responses to complex RFEs. Your leadership will ensure that our team maintains the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and professionalism. You will be responsible for designing training programs, establishing streamlined procedures, and aligning departmental goals with the broader organizational mission. A strong analytical mind, exceptional legal writing skills, and fluency in English—both spoken and written—are essential for success in this role. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the RFE Cover Letter teams by providing comprehensive training, guidance, and support to promote excellent performance.
- Lead team meetings and one-on-one sessions to address questions, share updates, and reinforce best practices.
- Conduct skip-level meetings with indirect reports to enhance process development and continuous improvement.
- Oversee and ensure the delivery of targeted training and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the RFE Cover Letter team, ensuring team leads track and improve performance metrics.
- Act as the primary escalation point for highly complex, unique, or challenging RFE cover letters, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements to optimize the RFE cover letter writing process, potentially leading to initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation practices, ensuring team members understand and adhere to established standards.
- Collaborate with the training department to design a comprehensive onboarding program and ongoing development initiatives, including hands-on assignments, virtual meetings, follow-up sessions, and weekly mentoring. Focus on cultivating a calm, organized, and collaborative team environment through structured training, ongoing support, and mentorship.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience working with immigration case types such as T-visa, U-Visa, Med DA, and VAWA.
- Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance outcomes and support business growth.
- Highly advanced written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating complex legal information for diverse audiences.
- Leadership experience with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required; legal education or certification is preferred.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Prior leadership experience is essential.
- At least 4 years of experience related to immigration law.
- Minimum of 3 years of legal writing experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret metrics, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
