Responsibilities
- Conduct Accessibility Trainings for Designers, Developers, and Content teams to enhance organizational awareness and skills
- Advise the UX Team on potential WCAG compliance issues, focusing on UX choices that meet business goals and improve usability
- Evaluate Design Style Sheets, guidelines, and documentation for accessibility compliance and consistency
- Provide accessibility technical guidelines for the Development Team, including HTML and ARIA coding patterns
- Work with QA Teams to ensure accessibility standards are upheld during testing and validation stages
- Host consulting sessions for Design, Development, and QA Teams to address specific accessibility challenges
- Perform A11y Acceptance for initial component development to ensure adherence to accessibility standards
- Propose improvements to components to achieve better accessibility outcomes
- Serve as an internal expert on accessibility-related topics, sharing knowledge across departments
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in accessibility consulting or a similar field, with a strong understanding of WCAG, ARIA patterns, and HTML standards
- Proficiency in accessibility testing tools, screen readers, and assistive technologies
- Background in UX design, development, and QA processes, with expertise in incorporating accessibility into workflows
- Strong skills in assessing design documentation such as Design Style Sheets and guidelines for compliance
- Capability to educate cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and content creators, on accessibility practices
- Familiarity with developing actionable strategies to enhance accessibility in web components and digital content
Nice to have
- Knowledge of innovative trends in digital accessibility and usability improvements
- Familiarity with additional accessibility standards, including Section 508 and ADA compliance
- Understanding of global accessibility requirements and their relevance to international teams
