Position Purpose:
Provide strategic communication leadership to the Market Unit (MU) to achieve annual goals and objectives, employee engagement in Brink’s internal/external priorities and major programs to drive business results (e.g., annual priorities, strategic business plan, enterprise initiatives etc.). Builds employee pride, strengthens and protects brand reputation, and is a culture champion. This position has a scope to support the MU countries in both internal and external communications.
Principal Accountabilities:
Communication Strategy
Supports the development and implementation of communications strategies that serve to support Market objectives. Executes based on the annual communication plan, builds/works with MU and Country leaders to execute the strategic messages and campaign to drive the agenda throughout the year. Develops and monitors mechanisms to continually gather feedback from employees related to the understanding of the MU’s strategic role and how they contribute to organization’s success. Identifies and ensures the production, ongoing maintenance and evaluation of appropriate vehicles for communications. Leverages knowledge of communication and the employee mindset to advise and assist the Market Communications Leaders decision-making. Serves as main connection with Country Leaders in employee programs, as well as acts as key business partner for select initiatives.
Communication Infrastructure
Manages, develops and executes the content for the Market Unit using available business strategy channels. Champions constant alignment within the Market goals Identifies and ensures the production, ongoing maintenance, and evaluation of appropriate vehicles for communication Executes and maintains communications channels to achieve annual communication and business goals Measures the effectiveness of communication within their area of responsibility, providing plan adaptations that reflect communications success/opportunities. Schedules, manages logistics and executes meetings, video/teleconferences, and events.
People/Relationship Management
Directs the work of anyone driving internal or external communications (at a MU level) Works cross-functionally to support the business. Operates from a position of influence versus reporting relationships.
Communication Development and Delivery
Designs and develops content to achieve communication strategies and objectives. Works with appropriate levels of leadership to manage the approval process for communications. Responsible for ensuring relevance, consistency, integration, alignment, and appropriate timing of messages across the organization. Translates senior leadership messages into communications that are appropriate for all levels.
Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:
This position requires 5-10 years of experience in business, communications and/or marketing. The incumbent has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
The candidate will be comfortable and capable of providing strategic communications counsel and coaching to senior executives and effectively working across multiple organizational boundaries; have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a professional presence and business diplomacy skills; and demonstrated ability to partner with various teams within a corporate environment to achieve specific internal communications goals.
The person must have the ability to transform complex concepts into simple communications that can be easily grasped by a diverse audience. He/she should be able to demonstrate the ability to craft communications plans, including conducting needs assessments, identifying and analyzing stakeholders and audiences, drafting key messages, strategies and action plans, and managing implementation and internal and external resources. The incumbent must have a high capability in oral, written and video communications, and presentation development and speechwriting skills.
The person must also be able to drive alignment in an engaging, positive, and decisive way, addressing questions and partnering when needing. He/she should lead the organization to an effective structure that will allow support to geographies and functions alike while elevating the function and business plan communications strategy.
The candidate must be able to effectively demonstrate our Brink’s Values. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage many projects at once are fundamental requirements. Effective listening skills, with flexibility in approach to solutions, and excellent client management skills are also critical. The person must be highly motivated, goal and results oriented, with ability to respond quickly and meet deadlines.
