Proofpoint Operations Engineering is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Program Manager to support our teams in delivering high-quality products and features that protect people, data, and brands from cybersecurity threats. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, ensuring smooth execution of our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from planning to product release. What You’ll Do
Oversee and manage the full development lifecycle, delivering on-time, high-quality releases.
Plan and schedule projects, allocate resources, and level workloads while maintaining clear priorities for features and defects.
Keep teams aligned through sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, and cross-functional sync meetings.
Maintain dashboards and metrics to track sprint progress and team performance.
Facilitate open communication and collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Product Development, Threat Research, and Customer Support teams.
Proactively manage scope changes, identify risks, and implement contingency plans.
Balance competing priorities, such as customer escalations, feature requests, and shifting industry requirements, while keeping projects on track.
Actively contribute to retrospectives and use insights to continuously improve team processes
What You Bring to the Team
Experience: 3–5 years as a Program Manager in software development, an understanding of Agile-Scrum methodologies is helpful.
Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of software development processes and the ability to manage dependencies and deliverables effectively.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
Organization: Strong organizational skills, with a focus on prioritization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Adaptability: Ability to handle shifting priorities, navigate ambiguity, and maintain composure under pressure.
Tools Expertise: Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence).
