J.P. Morgan’s Wholesale Banking business is a global leader in banking, markets, and investor services, trusted by major corporations, governments, and institutions in over 100 countries. We provide strategic advice, raise capital, manage risk, and extend liquidity worldwide. Our Wholesale Credit Risk team assesses and manages credit and counterparty risks, maintaining independence and integrity in decision-making, and collaborates closely with industry-specific teams to support business needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct credit analysis and help a deal team seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team
- Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis, as well as projections of future cash flows for large corporate borrowers
- Develop a well-informed and forward-looking view of the business, financial and risks associated with a company and sector
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures, across industry classes, on an ongoing basis
- Participate in negotiating, finalizing, and executing documentation for loans and derivatives
- Review and assign risk ratings and maintains updated credit research on their portfolio of clients
- Work with Investment Banking Coverage, Commercial Banking Coverage and Global Corporate Banking on allocation of capital for clients; maintain threshold and industry limits
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Economics Degree or equivalent with strong interest in Finance /Advanced student in any Economics Degree
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter-personal skills
- Advanced English Level
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Academic training in the principals of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets products, and macro economics
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
