Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Postgres.

• Architect backend systems for high scalability, availability, and performance.

• Integrate third-party services and APIs to expand platform functionality.

• Develop internal tools supporting operations, workflows, and machine learning initiatives.

• Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to deliver impactful features rapidly.

• Ensure security, testing, and proper documentation of all backend systems.

• Optimize infrastructure for a fast-growing user base with high performance expectations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend or Fullstack Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Azure Search.
• Proven success in building and scaling eCommerce or marketplace platforms.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Experience designing robust enterprise-level APIs that integrate seamlessly with mobile applications.
• Solid coding practices: reusable components, test-driven development, and scalable architecture (e.g., event-driven, microservices).
• Comfortable iterating quickly in a fast-paced startup environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
