Materials Development Manager

Team overview and job responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive person to work as a Materials Development Manager at the La Rosa plant located in Mataderos, CABA. The candidate must be able to quickly absorb, through internal training, the fundamental knowledge for the development of his work. As well as having analytical and critical thinking about internal procedures.

Main responsibilities:

• Supervise, study, research, and develop materials, among other components, by establishing objectives, scopes, and methodologies, identifying sources of physical resources.
  • Define, together with internal and external clients, the technical data and information necessary for the development of new materials and the improvement of existing ones, verifying the methodology, technique, and technology that best fit the specifications.
  • Report the need for improvements and enhancements in materials, processes, and methodologies, suggesting market technology trends that provide improvements in quality, streamlining, and cost reduction to meet customer needs.
  • Develop materials, equipment specifications, and prototypes, as well as supervise manufacturing, testing, analysis of results, and carry out technical and technological adjustments to meet the requested requirements.
  • Ensure that material development complies with the company’s technical and technological quality control standards and meets all the requirements established in the technical specifications, as well as international technical standards and those of the Head Office, including QHSE aspects.
  • Participate in qualification, certification, and approval activities of developed systems and products; procedures, standards, and technical and technological specifications; evaluation of materials and methods, processes, and characteristics of mechanical and electrical tests, in accordance with current legislation (e.g., AEA regulations and annual monitoring related to electrical safety), technical standards, and pre-established guidelines.
  • Prepare technical documentation, technical reports and technical advises, as well as updating manuals through studies and data collection.
  • Advise on the practical application of research and development results, guiding the implementation of new technologies and inputs to help improve products and/or services.
  • Deliver technical product presentations to both internal and external clients, highlighting our advantages over competitors.
  • Support the Process team on matters related to the evaluation of raw material behavior in the process (non-conformities, machinery redirection, etc.).
  • Support the Quality team in the evaluation and resolution of non-conformities in finished products.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a person with a bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or industrial engineering (Not exclusive). We look for the following skills and motivations:

• At least 5 Years of proven previous experience in engineering, products development or similar roles (Not exclusive).
• Processes, material development, and mechanical testing.
• Detail-oriented. Organized.
• Able to share experience and knowledge with others.
• Knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills (in English and Spanish).

Buscamos una persona proactiva que se desempeñe como Responsable de Desarrollo de Materiales en la planta La Rosa ubicada en Mataderos, CABA. El candidato deberá poder rápidamente absorber, a través de capacitaciones internas, los conocimientos fundamentales para el desarrollo de su trabajo. Así como contar con pensamiento analítico y crítico sobre los procedimientos internos.

Principales responsabilidades:

• Supervisar, estudiar, investigar y desarrollar materiales, entre otros componentes, estableciendo objetivos, ámbitos y metodologías identificando fuentes de recursos físicos.
• Definir, junto a los clientes, internos y externos, datos e informaciones técnicas necesarias para la realización del desarrollo de materiales y el perfeccionamiento de los existentes. Verificando metodologías, técnica y tecnológica que mejor se ajuste a las especificaciones.
• Informar necesidades de mejoras y perfeccionamiento de materiales, procesos y metodologías, sugiriendo tendencias en tecnologías del mercado que proporcionen mejoras en calidad, racionalización y reducción de los costos para satisfacer las necesidades de los clientes.
• Desarrollar materiales, especificaciones de equipos y prototipos, así como supervisar la fabricación, ensayos a realizar, análisis de resultados, y proceder a los ajustes técnicos y tecnológicos para adecuarlos a los requisitos solicitados.
• Asegurar que el desarrollo de los materiales este dentro de los patrones técnicos y tecnológicos de control de calidad de la empresa, y se ajuste a todos a los requisitos establecidos en las especificaciones técnicas del mismo, así como su adecuación a las normas técnicas internacionales, y de la Casa Matriz, incluyendo los aspectos de QHSE.
• Participar de actividades de calificación, certificación y homologación de los sistemas y productos desarrollados; procedimientos, normas y especificaciones técnicas y tecnológicas; evaluación de materiales y métodos, procesos, características de tests mecánicos, eléctricos, de acuerdo con la legislación vigente, (por ejemplo: reglamentación de la AEA y seguimiento anual referido a la seguridad eléctrica) normas técnicas y directrices preestablecidas.
• Elaborar documentaciones técnicas, emitiendo informes y dictámenes técnicos, asi como actualizar manuales, por medio de estudios y relevamiento de datos.
• Asesorar sobre la aplicación práctica de los resultados del trabajo de investigación y desarrollo, orientando a la implementación de nuevas tecnologías e insumos, a fin de cooperar con la mejora de los productos y/o servicios.
• Realizar presentación técnica de productos tanto para clientes internos como externos resaltando nuestras ventajas frente a otros competidores.
• Soporte al equipo de Procesos en los temas relacionados a la evaluación del comportamiento de materias primas en el proceso (NC, redireccionamiento de maquinarias, etc).
• Soporte al equipo de Calidad en la evaluación y resolución de NC de producto terminado.

¿A quién buscamos?

Buscamos una persona con Título universitario preferiblemente en ingeniería química, mecánica o industrial (no excluyente). Buscamos las siguientes habilidades y motivaciones:

• Al menos 5 años de experiencia comprobada en ingeniería, desarrollo de productos o funciones similares, necesarias para dominar las actividades principales del cargo (no excluyente).
• Procesos, desarrollo de materiales y ensayos mecánicos.
• Atento al detalle. Organizado.
• Capaz de transferir a otros su experiencia y conocimientos.
• Conocimientos de Normas ISO 9.001, 14.001, 45.001 y 50.001
