Position Overview
As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, records, and reports. This includes maintaining the general ledger, reconciling subsidiary accounts, reviewing financial statements, and preparing key financial reports. You will also ensure compliance with local regulatory accounting and taxation requirements, enforce accounting policies, support financial control, and support other offices with accounting-related and finance-related matters. This role plays a key part in upholding financial integrity and supporting organizational decision-making through accurate and timely reporting.
What You Will Do
- Define and develop accounting processes, policies, and practices;
- Maintain bookkeeping in in-house accounting software and system, including managing the sufficiency and accuracy of accounting documents, either in soft copy or hard copy;
- Liaise with and manage deliverables from local accountants, ensure quality and accuracy of data and reports;
- Prepare or support the preparation of financial reports, including but not limited to financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to accounting-related, tax-related requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions;
- Review periodic accounts and support accounting-related and/or finance-related issues of offices based in other jurisdictions;
- Review payment requests and supporting documents in the system.
- Other tasks assigned by the management and/or the team’s senior leaders.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with a structured approach to tasks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Highly organized and dependable, with a proactive mindset
- Clear and effective communicator in both written and spoken English (Intermediate to Upper Intermediate level)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge about data-processing tools is a plus
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and supporting remote teams across offices
Who Should Apply
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting
- Hands-on experience in financial reporting, tax filings, budgeting, and management accounting
- Working knowledge of statutory compliance, reporting/accounting standards, and taxation principles and practices
- Fluency in English (C1/Advanced), both written and verbal, and preferably other foreign languages
- No restrictions on business travel
